NEW :: "Red Gold"

Here is the story of young Jeremiah Goldberg, a 10-year-old in the burg of Stillwater, California in 1880, a boomtown with mystery, murder, and intrigue at its core. For Jeremiah and his trusty pals, Rachel Burgoyne and Fong Lee, there’s adventure to be mined, and Red Gold delivers the mother lode with aplomb. Like the dime novels featuring the setting-the-world-to-rights avenger McAlester, so beloved of our pint-sized hero, Red Gold tells the tale of a Jewish boy becoming a man when events threaten to turn Jeremiah’s actual life into a story torn from the pages of pulp fiction.

Bruce Kimmel is the author of thirteen previous books, all of them published by Author House (a division of Penguin Random House)—he is, in fact, Author House’s most-published author. He has a successful record label called Kritzerland, and has worked either as an actor, writer, director, or record producer for over forty-three years. He also has the longest-running “daily blog” in the history of the Internet, having never missed a day since November 9, 2001. He lives in Studio City, California.

“Meet 10-year-old Jewish cowboy Jeremiah Goldberg, who is growing up in a California boomtown circa 1880; a place where the girls were apple-cheeked and a good dime-store paperback was all a kid needed to pass an afternoon. Bruce Kimmel’s smartly-paced, entertaining Red Gold is a hybrid-part Jewish cowboy whodunit, part coming-of-age tale. But the gamble pays off. Giddyup.”
Micky Rapkin, author of Pitch Perfect, about the world of collegiate a cappella groups, which inspired the hit film from Universal

“For his first foray into the Western genre, irrepressible author Bruce Kimmel has saddled up and delivered another genuine nugget. For those familiar with Kimmel’s other creations–those loveable youngsters Benjamin Kritzer and Adriana Hofstetter–here’s Jeremiah Goldberg, a short stack plumb-full of gall and sand, who’s about to grow big and tall as the West’s newest legend.”
Nick Redman, Oscar-nominated producer of The Wild Bunch: An Album in Montage and the director of Becoming John Ford.
